20 Things about the Blood of Jesus

1. Total remission of our sins (Matt. 26:28).
The blood of bulls and goats only covered sin temporarily and could never take away sin. Jesus Blood is for the total remission of sins. John the Baptist said behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.

2. It gave us life (John 6:53).
When a baby is born, its lungs are empty until it takes its first breathe and then blood rushes into them giving life. What an awesome picture of the blood giving life. Also, this verse tells us that without the blood, there is NO life. Jesus came that you might have LIFE.

3. We will dwell in Christ and He in us (John 6:56).
Not only is Christ in US but We are in Him forever. He will never leave us or forsake us.

4. Jesus purchased US with His blood (Acts 20:28).
God made you in His image, then you were lost and he purchased you back with His blood at the highest price ever paid !!

5. Jesus blood was our atonement (Rom. 3:25).
Jesus is our mercy seat.

6. It justified us and saved us from wrath (Rom. 5:9).
When you realize that Noah's ark is a picture of Jesus, and a picture of how we did not just escape the wrath but we were "IN" the thing that it fell on (Jesus). Gal 2:20

7. It redeemed us according to the riches of His grace (Eph. 1:7; 1 Pet. 1:18-19; Rev. 5:9).
Not according to what we think, but according to the riches of His grace, which far surpasses anything we could ask or think.

8. It brought us near to God who were once far off (Eph. 2:13).
It was US who were far off from God, many think it was God who was far from us, but thank God the blood of Jesus brought US near to Him.

9. We have redemption & the forgiveness of sins (Col. 1:14).
Please make sure you see the word HAVE in this verse. Not obtaining & confessing...but Have.

10. It made peace and reconciliation to God (Col. 1:20).
He has reconciled ALL things to Himself.

11. It has obtained eternal redemption for us (Heb. 9:12).
Eternal redemption in the Greek still means eternal redemption !!

12. It cleansed our conscience from dead works to serve the living God (Heb. 9:14).
When you don't believe you are clean by the blood, that is an evil conscience toward God. Only when your conscience is cleansed, can you LIVE free of dead works to serve God.
Dead works are simply things you "try" and do by your own efforts to earn what the blood has freely given you.

13. It is the reason we can enter the most holy place with boldness (Heb. 10:19).
Some still teach today that you must enter in through the ritual of the Mosaic law. It is the BLOOD that qualifies you to enter with boldness and NOTHING else. What the blood qualifies you for NOTHING can disqualify you !!

14. The blood heals (Isaiah 53:5).
We've all heard this verse, that by his stripes I am healed. Those stripes that Jesus took produced blood. The Romans were experts in torture and their whips contained sharp metal objects meant to rip open flesh. Salvation includes more than heavens promise but complete wellness and wholeness and that came from the blood that was shed.

15. It sanctified you (Heb. 13:12).
Another area where people believe because of non-biblical teaching that they must earn their sanctification through a process. It is the BLOOD that sanctifies.

16. It has made you complete (perfect) to do His will and that which is well pleasing (Heb. 13:20-21).
The bible also confirms this in Phil 2:13, HE works in you, both to WILL and to DO his good pleasure. Notice who does the work. And Hebrews says it is the blood.

17. It cleanses us continually from ALL sin (1 John 1:7).
The word cleanses is in the active tense which means it KEEPS on cleansing continually !!

18. We are washed as white as snow in the blood (Rev. 1:5; 7:14).
Seems like a contradiction to US, that blood could wash us white as snow, but that is exactly what the word says it has done.

19. It is the means by which we HAVE overcome the accuser of the brethren (Rev. 12:11).
The devil suffered a total defeat at the cross. God also nailed to the cross the very laws that were against us that the accuser would use... he SPOILED his only weapon. (Col 2:14-15)

20. The blood speaks grace that we may serve God acceptably Heb 12:24-28

The blood speaks from Mt Zion (not Mt Sinai) & from the heavenly mercy seat.
Hebrews says DO NOT refuse what the blood says, The blood never speaks vengeance or judgment but it speaks, Life, righteousness, love, peace, joy, forgiveness, rest, no condemnation, redemption, blessings, God is good and his mercy endures forever. Many today reject this message for the Sinai message of fear and judgment.

REFUSE NOT Him that speaks... those better things than the blood of Abel -- Life, righteousness, love, peace, joy, forgiveness, rest, no condemnation, redemption, blessings, God is good and his mercy (GRACE) endures forever.
